About Us
Top Floor Learning (TFL) began as the Literacy Volunteers of Quaboag Valley, housed in the basement of the Palmer Public Library. The Board of Trustees decided to expand the mission of the organization beyond the focus on literacy, to offer a broad range of educational opportunities for adults. Thus, Top Floor Learning was founded in October 2003 and was housed on the top floor of the recently expanded Palmer Library building.
Currently, in addition to literacy education (e.g., ELL, reading and writing), TFL offers high school equivalency exam prep, prep for pre-collegiate and professional exams, writing, math, computer and smartphone usage instruction, assistance with resumés and employment applications, cybersecurity classes and classes based upon AARP curriculum for senior computer education (TFL is a Senior Planet licensed partner). We have recently begun working with nearby organizations to provide onsite classes and tutoring. A few of our tutors are also offering remote lessons, and we are seeking to expand this so that we can serve clients who have transportation issues
