Loan Program Coordinator
QVCDC is a non-profit community development organization located in Ware, Massachusetts that serves the Quaboag Region. QVCDC is an alternative small business lender. QVCDC offers an array of programs to support small businesses and benefit low-income residents by reducing unemployment, providing education and career training, and creating job opportunities. POSITION TITLE: LOAN PROGRAM COORDINATOR Job Type: In the office and in the community - 40 hours weekly Location: 23 West Main Street, Ware, MA POSITION SUMMARY: The Loan Program Coordinator promotes the QVCDC/QVBAC loan programs through outreach in the Quaboag Valley region. The Loan Program Coordinator works with small business owners to determine their loan-readiness and guides them through the application process. The Loan Program Coordinator presents loan applications to the Loan Committee, prepares loan closing documents and maintains contact with borrowers post-closing. Specific areas of responsibility of the Loan Program Coordinator are: 1.Outreach and Lead Generation – Promote our loan program to potential borrowers, community organizations, banks and other community partners. Attend events representing QVCDC, including networking and industry events. Meet with current small business owners and entrepreneurs (some travel to business sites required) and determine their eligibility for various loan funding. Work with Executive Director to determine loan program goals. Maintain leads and loan pipeline in Portfol software. 2. Loan Application Development – Work with small business owners to identify financing needs and help them submit a complete loan package. Help small business owners with cash flow projections and business plans. Work with the Executive Director on underwriting. Present completed loan applications to our Loan Committee for approval. 3. Portfolio Management – Prepare closing documents for approved loans and follow-up with borrowers on required documentation including vehicle titles, insurance coverage, etc. Use Portfol loan tracking software. Occasional trips to the bank, post office and registry of deeds, etc. 4. Relationship Management – Maintain the borrower relationship, monitoring progress and recommend QVCDC services as needed. Maintain accurate files and oversee periodic collection of financial statements, insurance certificates, job creation reports and other reports required of borrower. 4. Collections – Contact borrowers with late payments. Work with delinquent borrowers to help them avoid defaulting. Work with borrowers to modify their existing loans. 5. Reporting – Maintain internal reports on inquiries, loans approved and loans closed. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the board of directors and various funders. 6. General - Participate in regular staff meetings. Assist other team members as needed by answering the office phone, sorting mail, etc. Support other team members as needed by helping plan and attend events such as Local Impact and MACDC Lobby Day. Attend periodic trainings, regional or statewide meetings or other events. Some remote work may be possible after training. Other tasks or activities as assigned. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in business management, finance or an aligned field • Attention to detail is crucial. Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects • Ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment with an open office • Ability to effectively interact with the public. Some public speaking is required. • Ability to speak, read and write in fluent English. • A valid driver’s license and daily use of a reliable vehicle. Mileage is reimbursed. • Being bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
